As always, safety is first and foremost in our thoughts and actions here at Nova. This week, we received a tremendous letter of recognition from the Navy for the very diligent and hard work that our entire Miramar team has accomplished in the field in this regard. This recognition was the Navy’s acknowledgment of Nova’s team having had no accidents for one year on a very difficult and challenging project. This exemplifies what we believe in and try to live by day in and day out. Zero accidents is possible.
In fact, the majority of all of Nova’s projects for the past several years have had zero accidents. One other very special event took place in the past several months. That is that our shop has now completed its sixth plus year without a recordable accident. I believe both these events clearly demonstrate that when you have active management, with an outstanding work force, zero accidents is absolutely achievable.
In this next year we will be looking at new ways to make sure we are not complacent. We will be searching for ways to increase our communication and sophistication involving the world of safety. I would like to thank each and every one of you for a very good past year, and look forward to only doing better and working harder on the issue of safety.
